Christmas elves
In Finland, elves are called “Tonttu” and in Sweden “Tomte.” Historically, the lesser-known term “Querkele” has also been used.
Here you can see why these lively fellows are rarely or never seen. Shortly after their magical encounter with their busy helpers, they disappear again in a mysterious way.
Only through luck and a good dose of fortune did a photographer manage to digitally capture this process with the help of the northern lights and double underexposure.
