Rhine Romance with EventComedy

The narrative around the Loreley, the world-famous Nibelungen saga, Roland the knight, Nonnenwerth Castle and many other myths and legends along the Rhine bends, covers a period of many centuries.

With an ensemble of five, the Cologne artists are on the trail of Rhine Romanticism.

Legends and myths

Enthroned on the rock, the Loreley sings beguilingly of her longings. She is accompanied by a philosophizing historian, with seemingly endless stories and tales. A damsel strolls with her wicker basket full of exciting trivia about this era. The juggler Friedenand, moving from castle to castle, shows how to defeat gravity and how things disappear and reappear elsewhere. Strange! Last but not least, the monk Abelah initiates the guests into the world of phenomena with alchemical curiosities, making them adepts of his art.

Dear Mr. Schmidt, Cologne,                 May 16, 2022.

On behalf of the Association, we would like to express our sincere thanks to you and your entire team for your commitment and dedication to our festive evening on April 28, 2022, as part of this year's annual meeting of the DAV and DGVFM.

Your offer made our festive evening interesting, exciting and a complete success. Your staff introduced our guests to the legends and myths of the Middle Rhine in a very appealing way. The juggling, the hat game, the curiosities and the belly-shop girl especially contributed to this. Their planned equipment, the medieval costumes and designed decoration were very aptly chosen and were demonstrably well received both by our guests and by us as organizers.

Around 570 congress participants attended the event, of which over 270 took the opportunity to meet colleagues again in person at the festive evening in a relaxed atmosphere after more than two years. The feedback we have received so far from our guests on our festive evening program has been very positive throughout.

A special thank you to you and your team for your creativity and your openness to help us design our festive evening and thus create a varied and lively event.

We wish you continued success and all the best.

With kind regards

Henning Wergen
